Traditional Voicemail

Traditional voicemail lets you call your mailbox to listen to and manage your voicemail messages. Simple but old school.

Setting up traditional voicemail

To set up your voicemail for the first time, follow these steps:

  1. Press and hold 1 on your keypad.
  2. Create a 4 to 9-digit password.
  3. Select your preferred greeting. You can select a standard greeting with your phone number advising callers you’re not available, record your name to use in a standard greeting, or record a personal greeting.
  4. You'll hear a confirmation message once you're all set. Done and done.

Checking your voicemail messages

To access your voicemail:

  1. Press and hold the 1 key on your keypad and enter your password when prompted.

Unplayed messages will remain in your mailbox for 30 days.


How to manage your voicemail messages

  • Press 7 to delete the message.
  • Press 9 to save the message for up to 60 days.
  • Press 1 to replay the message.
  • Press 5 to hear message header information: the date, time, length of the message, and phone number it was received from.
  • Press 6 for more options.
  • Press 0 for help.
  • Press 2 to forward a message.
  • Press 3 to send a reply.
  • Press 8 to return a call.
  • Press * to return to the main menu.

Resetting your voicemail password

Changing or resetting your password does not delete your messages, greetings, or settings.

  1. Open the phone keypad on your device and then press and hold the 1 key to access voicemail.
  2. If password security is enabled, enter your current password to access the voicemail menu.
    1. Press 4 to change your personal options.
    2. Press 2 to change administrative options.
    3. Press 1 to establish or change the password.
    4. Enter a new 4 to 9-digit password and press #.

Resetting your voicemail greeting

After logging into your voicemail box:

  • Press 3 to access the Personal Options menu.
  • Press 1 to play your current voicemail greeting.
  • Press 2 to record, turn on/off, or listen to your personal greeting.
  • Press 3 to define group members and create a messaging group. All group members will hear a specialized voicemail greeting.
  • Press 4 to use your name as your greeting.
  • Press 5 to use your phone number as your greeting.

Deleted message recovery feature

The deleted message recovery feature allows you to review messages you‘ve previously erased during your current mailbox session.

  • Press star * from any menu to return to the previous menu until you reach the main menu.
  • Press 1 to review the messages you deleted.

If you erase a message from the erase message queue, it is permanently removed from your voicemail mailbox and will be deleted with all erased messages when you exit your mailbox.
