What happened to the Affordable Connectivity Program?
On January 11th, 2024, due to lack of additional funding from Congress, the FCC issued an order announcing the wind-down of the ACP. Funding for the program ran through May of 2024.
The FCC issued a public notice announcing that the last fully funded month of the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) was April 2024, triggering notification responsibilities for providers. ACP households received a partial ACP discount from their service provider in May 2024.
How is Boost Mobile continuing to support previous ACP customers?
- Former ACP customers that migrated to the $15 5GB rate plan will remain on our best value plan as long as they want for just $15 per month + taxes (no additional credits or discounts will be provided) (2024).
- Former ACP customers that are on $40, $50 or $60 individual rate plans (not family or multi-line) will receive $15 off their MRC in the months of July, August and September (2024).
- Boost Mobile is taking care of Tribal customers that are on the $40 35GB plan by giving them $15 off their MRC in the months of July, August and September (2024).
Gen Mobile: Lifeline Program
If your household income is at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guideline or you are enrolled in a qualifying program (SNAP, Medicaid, etc...), you may qualify for free phone service under the Federal Lifeline program provided by Gen Mobile, an affiliated Boost Mobile brand.
