How do I trade in my device online?

We keep it simple. Follow these steps to turn your old device into account credit:

  1. Shop & Select: Purchase your new device at boostmobile.com and choose the trade-in option.
  2. Check Value: Answer a few quick questions about your device’s condition to see if it’s eligible.
  3. Ship It: We’ll send a trade-in kit with your new device. Use it to send us your old phone.
  4. Get Credit: Once your device’s condition is verified, we’ll apply the value as credit directly to your Boost Mobile account.

Can I trade in my current Boost Mobile phone?

Absolutely! However, if your device currently has an active Boost Mobile financing agreement or you received any special device discounts in the last nine months, it’s not eligible for trade-in at this time.

How many devices can I trade in?

You can trade in one device for each new device you purchase.

What is my trade-in device worth?

While you're shopping for your new device, we’ll ask you a few quick questions about your current device’s condition and its IMEI. Next, you’ll see an estimated trade-in value.

Your final trade-in credit will be determined after you send in your old device and its condition is validated. See Trade-In Terms & Conditions for full details.

Can I change my mind after seeing the Estimated Trade-In Value?

Absolutely. You can remove the trade-in from your cart at any time before you complete your purchase. However, once you send in your device, your trade-in will be evaluated and its value is final.

When do I need to ship it back?

Don't sit on it. You have 30 days from the date your new device ships to get your trade-in back to us. Based on your account preferences, we’ll send you an email or SMS with instructions and the date we need to receive your trade-in.

If we receive your device after 30 days, it may still be accepted. However, your final account credit will be adjusted to a lower value. Devices received after 60 days WILL NOT be accepted and will be shipped back to you.

What if my account credit is lower than the initial offer?

When the device’s condition is validated, the final account credit value may be lower than the estimated trade-in value.

Common reasons for a reduced credit:

  • Minor physical or functional damage
  • Device condition is worse than initially described
  • Sending a different model or IMEI than what you reported
  • Shipping the device after the 30-day window

Can my trade-in be rejected?

Yes. Your trade-in credit will be cancelled and the device WILL be returned if:

  • The device won't turn on
  • Apple Devices: Find My iPhone (FMiP) and/or Activation Lock are still on and not disabled
  • Device is received after 60 days

Your trade-in credit will be cancelled and the device WILL NOT be returned if:

  • You return your new device
  • The device is on the North American GSMA Device Register list (device reported as lost or stolen)

What happens if I forgot to turn off Find My iPhone or remove Activation Lock on an Apple Trade-In?

We’ll send you an email and you can follow these instructions to turn off Find My iPhone and remove Activation Lock remotely.

You’ll have 14 days from when your device was received with FMIP enabled to remove Activation Lock and disable Find My iPhone remotely, or we have to cancel your trade-in and send the device back to you.

Where can I see my trade-in status?

We’ll send you updates about your trade-in through email or SMS so you’re in the loop.

Can I get a replacement kit for my trade-in?

Yes - contact Boost Customer Care to order a replacement kit.

What happens if I return my new device?

If you return your new device and the trade-in account credit was already applied to your Boost Mobile account, your account credit will be cancelled and your old device will not be sent back.

If you return your new device before shipping your trade-in, your trade-in credit will be cancelled. For more information, see our Trade-In Terms & Conditions.

What if I don’t send in my trade-in?

No sweat. If you don’t send in your trade-in, you simply will NOT receive the account credit that was offered in the original order.
